Our Lady of Lebanon, Harissa

Harissa, is a mountain village in Lebanon. The Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon is a Marian shrine and a pilgrimage site. It was built on top of a hill, 650 meters above sea level in 1907.

We reached Jounieh by bus and from there took the cable car, Téléphérique a popular way to travel up to the Shrine.

The cable car trip to the shrine is about 1.5 km long and it takes less than 10 mins and as we go up you can see breathtaking views of the bay.

Reaching the top either one takes the path or the funicular to go up to the shrine. Of course I decided to walk instead.
