Wat Phra That Doi Suthep

If you haven't seen the view from Doi Suthep, you haven't been to Chiang Mai.

So, hopped on to a 'songtaew' a small burgundy red pick truck, the vehicle of choice of the locals to get around here to visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, a Buddhist temple often referred to as "Doi Suthep" which gets it's name from the mountain it is located on.

The temple is located 15 km from the city of Chiang Mai and is a sacred site to many Thai people. From the bottom it it 309 steps that one must climb to reach the temple. Once on top had the fortune to see some young temple dancers and of course you could see the views of city.

*There were some construction/renovations going on when I was there....you can see the scaffolding in many of the photos.
