Pura Ulun Danu Bratan

Pura Ulun Danu Beratan or Pura Bratan is another temple that I visited. This is a major temple devoted to Lord Shiva. The temple complex is located by Lake Bratan and that's where the temple gets its name.

Built in the 17th century, locals come here to pray to the River Goddess Dewi Danu due to the Lake. The pagoda like structure is dedicated to Lord Shiva and his consort Parvathi. When I visited, there was some renovation work going on. It seems the popularity of the temple also lies in the fact that the temple seems to be floating in the lake when the water level is high.....and gives that ethereal beauty.
