Lost in Hua Hin!

Hua Hin is a seaside resort in southern Thailand. It's about 3 hour drive from Bangkok. This is my 2nd visit to Thailand and being in Bangkok wanted to visit a new place and scouting online I discovered Hua Hin! There are quite a few nice malls but I quite enjoyed going to the local night markets.....and so much to eat!

There's a beautiful about 20 meter high Buddha statue located at the bottom of the monkey hills (because there are lots of monkeys!) near the beach. Its a nice place to walk around here and you get a lovely view of the city from up here.

Buller Pass, Kananaskis

Bullar Pass Hike - I just did this hike with 4 guys! And I have to say that I was not the last one on the hike!

The trail takes you through lush fairy forests, burnt areas, larch filled alpine valleys up to a rocky pass surrounded by stunning peaks.

Looking north from the Smith Dorrien/Spray Lakes Road at the start of the trip. Mt.Nestor in the back.

Buller Pass trailhead....

...and the map at the start.

And here....it begins!

Big Brother is watching? Nah...this camera monitors animal traffic.

Into the burned forest.

The valley we came up.

The guys admiring the view. Nicholas & Vivek as well as David's head I can see. Only Amir is missing in the frame!

Loads of mushrooms in the forest!

The much talked Buller Creek waterfall. It's small but looks lovely!

Continuing up...the forest thins.

Into the larches...the last trees.

The final section of the trail up to the pass on the right is also the steepest.

The view below.....from somewhere in the mid trail to the top.

And here's the view from the top! I made it! Looking east to Ribbon Lake and Mt.Kidd.

From the top....looking north.

And there's Amir on top of one of the peaks in the north! He raced up and down!

Amir giving me his "Tree Pose"!

More mushrooms!

One of the valleys.

The guys with whom I hiked....David, Nicholas, Vivek & Amir.
